The external fabric of this sea front, multi storey apartment block had suffered as a result of the aggressive marine environment.

WCJ Ltd was initially appointed to undertake detailed investigations into the cause of structural defects affecting apartment balconies. We were subsequently appointed as structural engineers, contract administrators and CDM Coordinators for the design and project management of a phased remedial works scheme to renew balcony structures while apartments remained in occupation.

Following our detailed investigations, it became clear that complex remedial works would be required to take account of the differing forms of construction.
